Hanover Baptist Church Events

Today we held our third annual Community Yard Sale. Part of our outreach, we invite members of the local community to set up a free table in the church parking lot. This year we had about a dozen sellers. We sold a few things, bought a few things, and even shared a pizza. Another successful day!

This was the kick-off event for Hanover’s participation in God’s Plan for Sharing (GPS). “GPS is a national evangelism initiative which calls and equips Southern Baptists to reach North America for Christ by the year 2020.”

We planned to meet at the church and do a little canvassing with our bags and invite people to be a part of our Resurrection weekend. Inclement weather kept us from heading out today as a group, so individuals went out later in the week on their own.

If you’re not from North Carolina, you probably know wonderful fellowhip meal as a pig roast. Gary Brinson brought his own secret sauce for this fire-roasted barbecue pig. Jake was a major help, and other members of the Baptist Men basked in the sunshine while the meat and hushpuppies reached perfection.

The ladies, as usual, toiled in their kitchens preparing all the other things that make a true fellowship meal—potato salad, cole slaw, fruit salad and much more. The tables were groaning with Hanover goodness.
