Adult Fellowship

Bob & Sharyn Halpin hosted dinner at their home at 5:00. Weather prevented a planned cookout, but we all had a wonderful time (as usual). Thanks Bob & Sharyn!

We love Pastor Rick and Betsy. There is no adequate way to show our appreciation, but we shared a delicious meal in the fellowship hall following the morning service.

Today we hosted our 3rd annual community yard sale. We put on this yard sale as a service to church members, friends, and the people living around the church who may not be able to have yard sales at their homes. We set up at the church where there is plenty of room and safe parking.

Now’s the time to start sifting through the attic & basement in your quest for next year’s sale items!

This year’s Relay for Life, hosted by the American Cancer Society, was held at the old King George High School today. About 600 people from the county showed up and there were about 40 different teams set up around the track with various fundraisers for the fight against cancer. Whether they were church groups or families selling anything from BBQ sandwiches to tie-dye t-shirts, the enthusiasm for what they were fighting for was evident in the dedication of the team members and participants that took turns walking around the track. Team Hanover Baptist Church, with Cheryl Carter as Team Captain, had 17 members come and participate over the day. We ran a lemonade stand for the thirsty walkers and to raise money for the fight against cancer.

Sunrise Service

Celebrating the Lord’s resurrection! A hardy group made their way to Dahlgren Wayside well before the sun arose this morning. Gary, Charles, and Rondal were there even earlier making sure we had some heat and coffee to stave off the morning chill.
