This was our second monthly community dinner. Again we served spaghetti, salad, and Italian bread. We had a small turnout, but bigger than last month. We are honored to share food and love with our neighbors, even if it is only one person.

Community Outreach

This afternoon we walked out around the church to invite neighbors to our upcoming community dinner. As we talked to individuals, we also asked for prayer concerns. Later we reconvened at the church and prayed for everyone who shared a concern or request.

Through the spring and summer we will be hosting a monthly community dinner. Today was our kick-off event and we started out with spaghetti (who doesn’t like spaghetti?). Bob and Jay were primary pasta/sauce cookers while the ladies prepared crisp salads and bread. It was a wonderful opportunity to reach out to our neighbors, both in hospitality and Gospel-sharing.

We did something a little different this month for our 5th Sunday Fellowship. First off, it was right after the morning service. After our meal, everyone handed out flyers in the neighborhood to advertise our Community Outreach Spaghetti Dinner. It was a simple way for everyone to participate in outreach.

Community Yard Sale

This was the first year we advertised the yard sale in the paper and on craigslist, so we had a very good turnout. Hanoverians and our neighbors scoured their basement and garage for yard sale fodder, managing to de-clutter their homes and pad their wallets, all while getting to meet their neighbors. Sunshine ruled the day.
