Church Workday

Church members of all ages met early this morning to clean up the church grounds. With many young people helping out, including members of the local Homeschool Honor Society, it felt more like a “fun day” than a workday. Folks pulled weeds, spread mulch, cleaned up trash, trimmed the bushes, sanded and painted the railing, and cleared felled trees, all the while socializing and keeping up good spirits as they labored from 8am until noon. Good fellowship and hard work combined to create great memories and a very tidy churchyard.

We started this magnificent day at Wayside Park with a perfect sunrise and a nice warm morning to enjoy. Pastor Crookshank read from the Word, and his message reminded us of the parallels between the awesome, unstoppable power of the sun and the Son!

For the past two months, church members have been busily crocheting, knitting, tying, and quilting these beautiful blankets for children who may have lost everything in a disaster. The blankets are destined for the new SBCV Childcare Disaster Relief Trailer, so they will be available whenever a disaster strikes.

Adult Fellowship

Breaking with tradition, we gathered at the church Fellowship Hall for the April dinner. As always, the food was wonderful, but the true blessing of this evening was the chance to relax, talk, and learn from each other.

Pastor and Mrs. Mitchell joined us today for our morning service to share with us God’s work being done at Shepherds Ministries.

Shepherds Ministries, a nationally recognized organization founded on Jeremiah 23:4, provides compassionate Christian care, vocational education and job opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities, helping them attain appropriate independence with fulfilling jobs and lives, while also providing for their spiritual development.”

If you missed this morning, you can get the audio recording in our messages section.
